Its name is taken from Jules Verne’s novel describing the jangades, those large rafts that traveled down the Amazon River in the 19th century. Built in 2018 and 2019, this 29-meter-long catamaran, adorned with ipé and cedar, 10 meters wide, has the advantage of a very shallow draft (1.3 meters), allowing it to travel upriver and navigate the most secluded tributaries.
12 cabins ranging from 16 to 25 m², including 6 with private terraces, accommodate 2 or 3 passengers per cabin or suite. Air conditioning, refined comfort, panoramic views, and uniquely designed spaces. 10 crew members and guides, plus tender boats. The newest and most comfortable ship in the Amazon fleet.
La Jangada was designed with eco-friendly and fair-trade tourism in mind. Permits for access to national parks are issued by the Brazilian Institute for Environmental Protection. The uniqueness of these cruises also stems from the special relationships forged over the years with the leaders of various villages.
